My Office Building Makes the Newspapers!

(New York-AP) – One person said it look like a scene straight from the movies. Two men dangled from safety ropes because their scaffold collapsed 26-stories above midtown-Manhattan. Victor Gonzalez and an unidentified co-worker were suspended by safety harnesses after their 20-foot-long scaffold gave way last night. A New York City firefighter helped secure the men from the roof of the building with a rope. The two men were then assisted back into the building between the 19th and 21st floors by firefighters. No cause was given for the collapsed scaffolding.

—They had to close fown the whole street. The NY Times article also noted that my office has 19 “unresolved building code violations.” I’m so proud!

Do the 19 violations include the nasty ladies room?

Zette

I think 18 of the 19 violations are related to the 16th floor ladies’ room.

And there is NO truth to the rumor that I sawed through the scaffold ropes! When they were hanging there by a thread yelling and screaming and everyone rushed to the window to see, I DID say, “Oh, don’t—you’ll only encourage them.”

(New York-AP) – One person said it look like a scene straight from the movies. Two ladies lay crumpled on the floor, passed out from the stench and filth of the 16th floor ladies room in an office building in midtown-Manhattan. Eve Golden and an unidentified co-worker were grossed out beyond belief at the condition of said rest-room. “I’m simply aghast! Oh!” cried Ms. Golden, an esteemed author. The level of grossness was so high, they ventured out onto the roof, threatening to jump. A New York City firefighter helped secure the women from the roof of the building with a rope. The two were then assisted back into the building between the 19th and 21st floors by firefighters. No cause was given for the disgusting bathroom condition, but Mexican day in the building cafeteria is strongly suspected.

Hmm, would that be the 20th floor, maybe?
