Seriously. My office is a ground floor room in a fairly old (1960s) brick warehouse; we had unbelievably heavy rain last week and now the wall underneath the window smells of piss.
I thought maybe some kids had peed on the outside and that it was soaking through, but it’s the whole wall, and it only smells on the inside.
Oh, it wasn’t the wall! It turned out to be the waste paper bin - it’s a solid plastic bucket lined with a poly bag - some liquid must have been spilt in there and been festering between the two layers of plastic. Didn’t smell anything like wee when examined closely - it was much, much worse.
The connection with the recent heavy downpour must have just been coincidence.
For some reason our Hollywood Video always smells like BO. Do old VHS tapes start to smell that way and my small collection doesn’t tip the scales? It’s mostly in the not-new-releases section but none of the staff smell that I’ve noticed.
My office also smells of wee. Then again, I work in a public library. Wee would be an improvement, sometimes. (Every time, I say I’m not going in the public restroom ever again, and every time I’m too lazy to walk down to the staff one.)
