I was always skinny, and a 32 waist for most of my adult life, until I turned 33 and my metabolism did an about-turn and rebelled against me. I’m not overweight, as such, but I am thicker around the waist, and I fear it’s getting worse. I wear a 34, but they’re starting to feel tight now, so I think I ought to buy 36’s next time.
Unless I can take control of myself and go back down to being skinny again. I am thinking that, against all personal expectation, I may have to actually go on a diet.
Or something.
What kind of diet are you following?
Nothing too rigid. Basically, 300 calories per meal plus a serving of fruit (usually a grapefruit half, since grapefruit has its own weightloss powers) with lunch and dinner, and a <200 calorie snack between lunch and dinner if I need it.
I make up a week’s worth of portioned meals in advance. When your serving size is 300 calories, it’s amazing how much food you can make for the money. One box of pasta makes about 8 portions.
Oh, and I mainly stick to real food (no preservatives or anything) and don’t go for “diet” food that’s loaded with a bunch of crap to keep the calories low, like artificial sweeteners (except for stevia-based ones, which I don’t mind since they’re made from plants and not from molecules).
Plants are made from molecules.
Plants are made from jesus.
