Pepperoni enthusiasts, you really don’t think this is overkill?

Nope.

But, as an ice cream sundae can in fact have too much hot fudge, a pizza can have too much pepperoni.
Wait. Not only can pizza have too much pepperoni, bit ice cream can have too much hot fudge? Is there anything good that you DO like?

I can still see some cheese, so…no, not overkill. Not even enough. ![]()
Agreed. I like a little - not a lot - of pepperoni. I usually get it without because most add too much.

No way, it looks just about right. Just exactly right…mmmm, pepp pizza for dinner tonight I’m thinking.
Pepperoni is good, more pepperoni is better. There is no such thing as “too much pepperoni” just as there is no such thing as “too much money.”
Pineapple and ham on pizza is also good although not as good as anchovies and black olives.
Pic is goooood. Pineapple on pizza is gooooooood. There shall be no debate on these things.
You ought to try making them go “light on the cheese” at a pizza joint.
Pizza for dinner. The decision has been made. And yes, it will be pepperoni and pineapple. For that final touch, I shall sprinkle red pepper flakes over it before dining.

Pineapple on pizza is just Wrong. I’m pretty sure it says so in the Bible somewhere.
It’s a pizza, not a fruit friggin’ salad.

I really like when there’s a big bubble near the crust, and it’s all baked-dry sauce and browned crispy cheese on a paperthin crunchy bubble-skin of dough. I like buffalo mozz and tangy-sweet sauce and non-soggy crust.
And a little pepperoni!
It’s all about the law of diminishing returns, or something. I’d hate to get that sudden nausea thing going on when I 've had so much of one flavor, suddenly I can’t even swallow the mouthful I’ve got, and then it’d be 2 years before I could look at a pizza again. I think there was another thread about that somewhere around here.
Too much hot fudge makes for thirstiness, and the ice-coldest glass of milk is warm compared to ice cream.
Wow, I’ve influenced people’s dinner decisions. I’m not sure if I am using my newfound power for good or evil, though. I think it’s my revenge for the Rhesus feces/M&Ms thread.

Pepperoni is gross. Fatty, greasy, eww.
I’m with you, pepperoni pizza is invariably a gooey greasy mess, dripping fat all over everything.
Pizza is crust, sauce and cheese, made right it’s a beautifully balanced food. Toppings should accent the pizza, not become the pizza. Pizza is not a topping delivery vehicle, that’s an insult to the wonderfulness of a well made pizza.
Just be glad you didn’t get pepper only.

Sausage on a pizza is like vomit on kittens.

You say that like it’s a bad thing
Mundane and pointless, to be sure. Pizza didn’t used to be layered with so much pepperoni that you couldn’t see the cheese, did it? When did this happen? It’s gross, and usurps the balance of a delicious pizza. I don’t want to go without it, and I don’t want to pick it off. I’ve tried in vain to address the issue at the outset.
Me: “can you go light on the pepperoni?”
Pizza Guy: “we don’t have light pepperoni.”
Me: “can I have mushrooms, and can you use about half the amount of pepperoni as usual?”
Pizza Guy: “so you want half pepperoni, half mushroom?”
I don’t want to go so far as to ask for exactly one dozen slices of pepperoni on my pizza. I am not Adrian Monk. I do not want to be the high maintenance restaurant patron who earns the scorn of every food prep worker behind the counter.
But it usedta be that you got maybe 2 or 3 pieces of pepperoni per slice of pizza. Now it seems like you get that per bite. If I wanted that, I’d just gnaw on the stick.
I’m not a picky eater, I swear.

I go to this Mexican place that I love, get beef 'n cheese nachos. However, I’m getting older and, in a completely lame attempt to slow down any oncoming cardiovascular disease, order the things with “half beef”.
Whereupon they put beef on one side of the dish, leaving the “other half” just cheese nachos. ![]()

Oh, yeah.
Way too much crust. If I want to eat sloppy dough, I’ll slap some ketchup on a loaf of bread, thank you very much.
