Snow is in the forecast, so I thought I’d better start up the Jeep. Poor thing hasn’t been started since last Winter!
Dead, dead, dead. Time to buy a new battery. And to screw on the new plates. And to remember to run it now and then.

Yeah, I tried to start my motorcycle last weekend after having not started it since June 11th. No go.
Which is particularly frustrating, since I’d only ridden it twice before that after having it serviced, including…
…
…
…replacing the battery.
The motorcycle runs great!
Yeah, I agree, my friend! I feel the same way about my 50 (150? I forget) Chinese scooter, which has been sitting in my SIL’s garage for 3 years now!
But as I can no longer drive/ride, I have now signed it over to my son.
Here’s me on it, in better times. Can you close in on the t-shirt?
So get that thing a’runnin, snow’boy!

My motorcycle works, but I have been unfaithful to it. It’s a honda V-twin, and been a great first bike…but I’m in deeeep smit over a certain Beemer K1200LT…alas, time and money have not coincided to make that happen as of late.
I put the new Die Hard in, and the Jeep started right up. No excess cranking, just rrrr-rrrr-rrrr-vroom!
The pisser was changing the damned license plates. You have to replace your physical plates every five years here. (Previous thread on that somewhere.) The back plate with its nylon nuts was easy. The front plate with its long, rusted bolts and nuts… not so much. I ended up taking the license plate mount off (naturally, all my tools are metric so I had to use a adjustable crescent wrench) and cutting the bolts with a Dremel tool.
Anyway, I am now ready for the snow. Maybe I should wash the moss off, but I’ve other duties today.
My Jeep starts fine (well, mostly fine) but the carburetor needs to be adjusted, the driver side floor needs to be replaced and the right front ball joints needs to be replaced. Until that gets done, I can’t drive it. Poor Jeep.

I tried to find it by The New Riders of The Purple Sage, but all I could find was some crappy live version, so we’ll go with this one, 'k?

I’m glad it wasn’t 15 days under the hood!
I always think I want to sell the Jeep. And then I remember it snows here. Just about 208,500 miles on it, and it’s still going strong.
Puddles (My '76 Chevy shortbed) is up and running and ready for winter. Chained up on all four with a Western plow on her she rarely leaves our property. I’ll plow the roads out to the highway when the County gets behind a few times a year though.
I’ve had her since '77. She’s been a great truck. Chained up as she is, she will go just about anywhere. But God help you if you do manage to get her stuck. You’re going to be in for a long day… (yes I’ve managed to stick a 4x4 chanied up all around with a plow on it. More than once. :smack: )
