My swimming pool pump (actually the pump/filter system) is recirculating the water (thru the filter) BUT the discharge line is also running a small stream of water - what is the problem? All assistance appreciated.
Sounds like a O-ring or some other filter/flush valve assembly has failed. Beyond that, I have no idea how to help you fix it. What model is it? Maybe I or someone can find repair instructions online someplace.
It’s a “Tagelus” (spelling ???) Filter with the valve that comes with the thing - I installed it last year and I’m hoping it is something simple like trash blocking one of the valve closure whatevers.
I’m really hoping someone with a pool has had the same problem and has a simple fix.
This is an in-ground pool - about 25000 gals.
Yes, but the exact fix may very well be model-specific or at least series-specific. There’s hundreds of filter pump manufacturers and Tagelus is but one. You’re going to need to get the flow-control valve open and try replacing all the O-rings and other rubber parts. Your local pool-supply store might even have rebuild kits available.
