I downloaded a fancy new house from the net, and it messed up my game. If I hovered my mouse over the new house, my game dissappeared, and I was looking at my start up screen! So stupidly, I un-installed it.
I SHOULD have uploaded my families before I did! I had a family on there I had been playing since MAY!! The Warmings, Hudson (mom’s maiden name) Warmings, Dora Warmings, and Wally Warmings (yup, after Wally before he died). they were very successful, and got along great… they had a baby girl, I named her Marie.
I feel your pain too. I had five separate families going from March or April until just this week. They were all majorly loaded and their skills were sky high. One family had six kids (I created them as just a couple. They liked each other so much that they multiplied like rabbits in a relatively short period of time). This week, I got the expansion pack, Livin’ Large. I didn’t have enough memory left to install both games, so I deleted my old Sims game, forgetting to save the families. I was devastated, to say the least.
I cannot begin to understand the pain you must be feeling right now. I can’t imagine a life without The Sims in it. My condolences go out to you and yours. I’ll say a prayer for you tonight and light scented candles in the name of the Warmings family. My heart goes out to you. And now, a moment of silence, in memory of the Warmings.

Um, Shad? You have to install Livin Large over the original game…
And Kells, the expansion pack is…it’s pretty good. I like the new objects, especially the genie who screws everything up… And the new careers are fun…my main family has a Tarot Card reader and a Piano Tuner in it right now.
And for future reference…if you download a skin or house that kills the game, feel free to email me…I know how to delete the file so you can still play without losing everything. My SIMS will mourn for your families.
the mrs is now hooked (as I am, I bought it originally)…we have an ethernet LAN set up…so she will play one house for awhile on her iMac…I will then copy the data file over to MY copy of Sims and play another house on my G3…eventually we plan to hook up the house o’babes with the house o’dudes
btw …do the Sims say “zoom zoom” when they leave for work?
I got it working now. Of course, it is too late. I lost all those great families I had going. I really like that you can now have multiple neighborhoods in the game.
Ummm, yeah. Guys and gals, you can undelete your deleted games, you know. Go to the Windows website and get the DOS undeleter. Just dump yourself into DOS, run undelete, and it will list all the files that have been deleted. Then you can just put a new first letter in the file name, and wala, your game is back.
I am an addict of sim related games. Right now I[m working on my Sim Tower. Hey, 1400 people!!! I actually think I am going to buy this game, whereas I normally download my programs. But it is too bog for my crappy connection.
