My son is ready to become a Simpsons writer

So we’re talking, just playing around, and he says he’d like to not go to daycare after school. Sarcastically, I asked him what he was going to do after school – did he plan to don a leather jacket and become a bully, extorting a quarter from kids who crossed his turf?

“That’d be great,” he wistfully replied. “I’d be respected AND feared – like the Buddha.”

Heck, I’d have given him a quarter just for that line.

No kidding – it was so strongly Homerish that I asked him if he was quoting the show, and he told me he Mae it up.

Better start trying to get him in to Harvard now.
