My study buddy, charged with murder

I guess she failed her degree then…?

My sister’s ex is doing two life sentences for double-murder.

My friend at college was living in a house at which a roll of carpet was found in the garden with a human skeleton inside it. It was the first ever victim idenfitied with the new muscular and facial reconstruction technologies.

A friend of ours from church rented out a small house to a family. Then stepdad gunned them all down one day.Turns out he’d been sleeping with stepdaughter who was just about to report him.The freaky bit was the message on her phone…Her mates from work, who hadn’t seen for a few days and worried, left a message saying ‘Come on.Get in touch. We’re worried about you.Are you lying dead somewhere in a pool of blood?’ Yep.She was
:frowning:

The 3 year old son of a friend of mine was the victim of a murder/suicide by his father, in one of those nasty custody battles you hear about, but never happens to anyone you know (until it does).

I wonder if this will come up while she is defending her thesis.

Some neighbors down the block were good friends of my parents, until the husband suggested a wife swap to my father. The idea didn’t go over well with my parents, and they shut off contact. The neighbors moved away after a while, and the wife got shot by her step son. I understand she had refused to give him money to buy more cocaine.

And I have an uncle (or something) whose wife ran off with the Fuller Brush man. He then followed the pair to a place called Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and shot and killed them both. I believe this was before I was born. That side of the family doesn’t like to discuss the case, so I am a little vague on the details.

My first boyfriend, who we’ll call psycho, had quite the temper. He was at a party once and a guy spun out as he was leaving, peppering psycho’s car with gravel. Psycho then walked up to a friend of the guy who’d just left, pulled out a gun, and shot him point blank in the head.

I was also friends with one of the Green River killer’s victims. We’d been in foster care together and she was just the sweetest person imaginable. I’d give anything if I could give her her life to live over again as it should have been lived and without all the abuses she endured. I made the mistake of reading reading the police report and now every time I think of her, I fall apart.

A friend of mine married a man who was later imprisoned for killing her 10 month old daughter. :frowning: Eerily, I’d seen her just the day before, and we’d joked about how we were going to hook up my son (two weeks old) with her “older-woman” daughter.

A kid I sort of grew up with–preschool through eighth grade, there are photos of him in my baby book–was convicted our sophmore year of high school of brutally murdering another kid in our class with a couple other guys. And when I say “brutally murdering” I mean beat him with a baseball bat and at least one other blunt object, possibly an ax handle, ran him over with a car, and shot him several times. Speculation is that drug money was involved, and the older kid who engineered the whole thing disappeared some time between the murders and the arrest. He was never involved in the arrest or convictions. Two other kids who were likely present at the murder were conveniently shipped off by their parents to live with relatives in other states before the arrest and were also never accused.

Also, a friend’s aunt dated the Green River killer for a period of time ending several months before the murders started ocurring. He was at Thanksgiving dinner with their family the year prior.

A high school classmate of mine was raped by William Kennedy Smith.

The story.

I have three examples:

When I was about 25 years old, living at home with my folks because my Dad was ill, when the visiting priest came to marry my parents. It seems that Dad was married briefly during WWII but her mother interfered an the marriage was never comsumated. Dad got a civil divorce after attempts at an annulment failed. Later he met my Mom, Baptist gal that she is, and they were married in her church. The visiting priest has arranged for an annulment for my Dad’s first marriage and had come to marry them in the Catholic faith.

OK this is strange enough to find out about your parent. But not long after the war, my Dad’s ex allowed a friend and her children to stay with her to get away from an abusive husband. The husband broke into the house and murdered everyone, then committed suicide.

The second instance involves a gal I work with. One son (who was chronically metally ill), was threatening my friend with a gun (and had actually shot her some years previously). The other (younger) son went into the next room and got a gun, then shot the brother, who died. The brother who was trying to protect his Mom was charged with murder and sent to prison.

The third instance was also work related. There was a small courier company renting space on my employer’s premises. They handled all our deliveries, as well as courier service for themselves. Suddenly one day the two brothers who ran the business did not show up, They called to say they were closing the business. A couple of months later, the older brother stabbed his wife to death during an argument.

When I was a kid, the guy two houses down was arrested because he was involved in the plot (ultimately successful) to murder Akron businessman Dean Milo.

Also, I was good friends with a kid named Charles in 4th grade. During the summer his family disappeared – I hadn’t seen him for about two weeks when I dropped by his house, which was completely empty, but no one had ever heard word one about them planning to move.

I had a good friend in elementary and junior high school that killed his mother with a hammer sometime around high school. He said Sting told him to do it. I remember him talking about Sting in glowing terms when we were in junior high, and it still makes me shiver.

I was once in a college art class (printmaking) with a woman who later was convicted of murdering a guy with a hammer while he slept.

The newspaper account quoted a detective’s testimony that at one point, after she’d been taken into custody, the woman could be heard singing a strange song.

The detective recounted the words.

It was “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer”.

I seem to remember a couple of threads like this before and Revtim always wins. He will continue to win until we get someone who had Eva Braun as a baby sitter.

Thank you. I hadn’t thought about it in awhile but it gave me a serious case of the willies again when I re-read the account of the murder last night. It really sheds a new light on some of the creeps I’ve found myself in the company of over the years.

You really don’t know if that rascally street punk you’re arguing middle-east policy with is a brutal, violent son of a bitch that would just as soon kill you as listen to your thoughts on OPEC.

This was probably true on Sting’s part. Bastard.

Yeah, Sting told me to kill someone once. I told him to shut the fuck up or I’d tell all the rainforest saviors what he’s really like. I haven’t heard a word out of him since.
