My stupid streaking shoes

I recently bought a new pair of shoes – nothing special, comfortable, but nice enough to wear to the office. The trouble is, the black rubber soles streak like crazy, especially on the wooden parquet in our apartment and on the linoleum floor in my office. The black marks are terrible, and I have had to stop wearing them at home for risk of my wife killing me, and stopped wearing them to the office because it is pretty easy to follow the black streaky trail to my desk.

I have had these shoes for about 3 weeks now and the problem persists. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to stop them streaking?

And here I thought you got shoes specialy designed for streaking (i.e. running around naked)

I suppoose you could coat the soles with something, but I’m not sue whatwould be duarable and non-skid.

I’m not sure if anything can be done to the current soles, but you could take them to a shoemaker to be re-soled. It’s not that expensive, and if the shoes are comfortable and work-friendly, it might be worth it.

I’m not sure why this is such a problem. I have a pair of shoes that do the same thing yet the marks come up easily if I swipe a sock-clad toe across them. I’d suggest resoling or investing in a few Mr. Clean magic erasers.

Or you could just stop dragging your feet.

Look for shoes with “non-marking soles”.
