My tender feelings have been bruised, battered and dropped in the fryer!

Sheesh! This morning I put out a memo to the associates at my stores informing them of the upcoming Christmas luncheons at their locations. One paragraph, approximately 150 words.

Yesterday I published a memo for all company vehicle users about quarterly usage forms; same approximate word count, with a semi-sorta kinda Twilight Zone motif.

I attempt to be catchy, creative and even a bit corny-Anything but boring! I want the memos to be fun to read as well as informative. A short while ago the boss enters my office to tell me that my memoes are getting “a bit verbose”. Ouch!

I’d be interested to know though; would you prefer succinct and boring, or fun and informative (but to the point)?

Otherwise, just wanted to whine a little, this is MPSIMS, after all!

Funny is only funny for so long. Maybe your boss has a case of “I don’t want to get sued over this comic showing a caterpiller and a french fry”.

Short and sweet and to the point…

Not ME!! I mean that’s the kind of memo I prefer. One of the more prolific memo writers here has a HUGE signature that hangs at the end of every piece of spew he distributes. Frequently, the .sig is longer than the memo.

Anyway, say it plain and simple and begone!
