Details here. The flag was turned in to the flag box for old and tattered flags, and was discovered when the flags were being sorted prior to the flag retirement ceremony.
This is a huge VFW post, drawing from the large number of veterans in the Prince William County area. The post officers are now trying to have the flag authenticated and then will donate or display it.
