This has been a bad week! On Sunday, my daughter and I went to a Celebration of Life for a friend I met last summer in chemo. She was taking the same chemo as I was and had breast cancer with mets to the bones, like me. I suspect that as I go through chemo, I will be going to more of these things.
Then, Wednesday, my black and white cat Lilo went into liver failure and had seizures. She had to be euthanized. This happened late at night and we had to go to the emergency vet. I didn’t sleep well that night and took the afternoon off the next day so I could go home and get some rest.
I decided to go to this potato restaurant and get some of their soup. On the way there, I saw a little dog running down McCarran Avenue, the very busy ring road that encircles Reno and Sparks. Uh-oh, I thought. This isn’t going to end well. And it didn’t
Sure enough, the little dog crossed the median strip and got hit by an SUV. He was a small bulldog and I could tell by the way he was lying, he was dead.
And the potato restaurant was closed.
Today I woke up with a giant stye on my left eye. I called my oncologist and they said put hot compresses on it—like everybody else told me.
Nowhere to go but up, I guess.
That is a shitty week. I hope things get better.
