My wife and I want to become CRNA's and move to Hawaii, and then live in a boat...

(CRNA’s are nurse anesthsists). My “masterplan” is , to get a used cabin cruiser (40 to fifty foot) for around 100K. My wife believes that we couldn’t possibly “live” in such an environment. I say that we could and might even be able to take “trips” to various locales in the South Pacific during our vacations. CRNA’s earn around 120K per year in Hawaii (more in most other places) and it will take us another five to seven years in order to accomplish this goal. What am I overlooking? Can you legally live in a boat? Do they have marinas where you can literally “park” your car, near where your boat is tied? I lived in Oahu for several years in the Navy and loved it there (but I wasn’t paying for the rent).

Mexico or even one of the Continental states (such as Oregon, Washington ect) and then cruised/sailed it over to Hawaii? Even if my target price of 100K is to low it would still be cheaper than the average cost of homes on Oahu, which exceed 300K. My wife believes that we should be able to find a campground on Oahu, that would let us “live there” in an RV/Camper for no more than $600.00 per month, but I don’t recall these from when I was there. Thanks, for any useful input.

As far as I know, it’s legal to live on a boat (if you can stand the spiders). Hell…you could even go to some remote islands and be resident, floating nurses. You’d have a regular beat that you’d do. People could pay you in cash or gifts (like goats or something).

All joking aside, I think it would be very do-able. Good luck!
