I’m going back east to my fathers memorial in the begining of July,and I lost my mother to cancer almost three years ago,I walked into her room 20 minutes after she died, relapsed after 9.5 years of sobriety and ended up back in treatment, after that I went to grief counseling provided by the hospice folks. keep close when you need people,They’ll be there if you let them…Hand

hlanelee, my most sincere sympathy and condolences. I went back looking through some of your previous posts, and she sounds like an amazing woman and an amazing wife. Be assured that your love was evident every time you mentioned her, and remember that and all the good times.
hlanelee, I feel like such a shitheel for what I’ve been bitching about in the Pit. Sometimes we can be too wrapped up in the inane things we can deal with. The reason I hope I go before my wife is to never know what you are feeling. From the limited posts I remember of you referencing your wife, she struck me as a caring and devoted partner. I won’t offer any advice, as I hope I never have to take it myself. Regardless of your religious/spiritual beliefs, I trust you’ll allow me to light an extra Novena for her? It can’t hurt, and it’s the best I can offer.
If you’ve lost either or both of your parents already, I trust you know how important it is to tend to your daughter. Good luck to both of you.
