I’d like to use good ol’ Unix syslog to log events from the Microsoft side of the house. Is this possible?
It is possible according to my Google searches. I wasn’t able to determine yet if the ability to send to a unix syslog server is native to win2k but there is a 3rd party add-on called eventreporter that can do it. It looks like there may be free utilities as well.
I have no experience with this software or activity since I only administer unix systems and we have a group that handles all the windows machines.
