My Windows Moblie phone removes the WiFi option

Let me explain:

To save battery life, I turn off the WiFi feature on my phone if I know I’m not going to use it. However, every time I turn it off, it not only turns off the WiFi, but it removes the option to turn it back on from the menu. I click on the Wireless Manager (either from the Today screen or the connections tab under settings,) and the only options listed are Bluetooth and Phone, unless I soft reset, and then WiFi shows back up. Also, under the ‘connections’ tab in settings, the ‘WiFi’ icon/whatever itself says WiFi is enabled, but clearly it’s not.

What kind of phone? Not a lot of WM phones have WiFi, so assuming it’s an HTC, check out this site. Otherwise, have you checked HowardForums.com?

It’s a Samsung i730, and it uses the Verizon network.

So others have reported odd WiFi problems with this phone

And others have reported success by flashing their phone to Windows Mobile 5. Are you still on Windows Mobile 2003?

I’d start by looking through the FAQ:

Then attempt flashing the new OS.
