My Work at the Warwick Museum of Art

I usually attend the performances of Unexpected Company, a local improv group who plays at the Warwick Museum of Art every Sunday night. Being there all the time, I got to be acquainted with the director of the museum. We were talking a year ago about “Cristo’s Gates” and he had said that he didn’t get the chance to go with being as busy at the museum as he had been. I had the opportunity to go on the first day and had taken some great pictures and asked him if he wanted a print, just as a personal favor.

When I gave it to him the following Sunday, he was so impressed with it that he gave it a permanent place in the museum. Okay, so it’s in the bathroom … but still, he liked my work so much that he said he was going to keep me in mind for the next show they did which featured local artists.

That time has come. I’ll be doing my first show from January 7 to February 4 entitled “2006 Omnium Gatherum Photographic Exhibition” along with other local photographers. It will be only three pieces, but it’s a start. If you’re in the area, come on down!

… I’m just confused as to why an improv troupe is performing at a museum.

Improv is for the street, yo!
