Boston area Dopers: come to my art show opening

I have 3 paintings in a show this month in Framingham. The show is the 6th Annual Juried Fine Arts and Photography Show, at Amazing Things Art Center, 160 Hollis Street, Framingham, MA 01702. The gallery’s number is 508-405-ARTS (2787). The dates of the show are July 7 - August 16, 2011, and the opening reception is this Sunday (July 10) from 12:30-2:30pm. I plan on being there for all or most of the reception (we’re driving home from New Hampshire that morning, so there is a chance that traffic might make me late, but we plan on staying until the end, regardless.)

Anyway, I just thought I’d post about it in case any locals wanted to come by and see some art.

The 3 paintings in the show are:
Afternoon Reverie
Under Cover
Illuminiation

This is what I look like, so you can say hi to me

Wow! You’re hot. Who’s the chick on the couch? She’s pretty good looking too.

Can’t get to the opening, but might make it to the show before it ends.

Can’t make opening either :frowning: but if the gallery is accessible and can arrange way to get to Framingham, I’ll come on by.

I really like Illuminiation!

Actually it looks like my cousin Kim

Unfortunately we probably won’t be able to make it, any spare time we have right now mrAru is replacing most of the fencing on our place, roofing the house [it took some fair damage this past winter and spring from storms] and giving the final axe to the damned forsythia that tries to kill me through hay fever every spring.

You’ll have to call the gallery to see what their hours are. They are open to the public but I don’t know the schedule. 508-405-ARTS

Actually, I’m coming to Boston on 7/10 to attend some corporate training 7/11-15. If the T goes up to Framingham, I’ll try to make it on the 10th, supposed to get to Logan at 1p.

It does

They are accessible.

There is a good chance I will bring my daughters to that show. It isn’t that far from us and my oldest is a budding artist herself. If we are able come, my real name is Maverick. I don’t want them to hear me refer myself as Shagnasty even though it doesn’t mean anything in particular.

Pepper Mill and I showed up and talked with Opal and her husband*. We saw Shagnasty and his daughters, too. Great artwork by OpalCat (and others, of course), but we had to be creative about parking.

*I greeted her with “Hi, Opal!” I couldn’t help it.

That was a enjoyable afternoon activity for me and my daughters. It was good to meet some Dopers in real life. I never met any before that I didn’t already know before they joined. Good work OpalCat. I didn’t tell you that when I was there but we enjoyed your work and that of others.

Thanks for coming by, both of you  It was really great to meet you. And the free cookies and cheese didn’t hurt, either.
