But you (the staff as a whole, not you personally) didn’t here, which is why this thread is still going.
Do we even have an admin these days? I mean, besides Ed, who is basically a non-entity around here 99% of the time. I’m pretty sure being accountable to Ed and having no accountability are nearly synonymous.
I think that if mods are here to enforce the rules, they should be doing so as even-handedly and fairly as possible.
Something like the action taken in this case by @Hari_Seldon seem out of place, and arbitrary and out of character for mod actions (ones I’ve paid any attention to, at least). Even if this is a very minor action it seems to have increased worries and concern, likely from fears that more serious actions will be following this behavior. I know I’d appreciate an answer to why the moderation was made.
Also, I am satisfied that the level of transparency we get from the moderation staff is, on the whole, about right. There are always specific exceptions but they seem to get dealt with.
I didn’t bring any pitchforks. If it wasn’t for @Max_S I’d still have no idea at all what the note was even about, and we’re still just going on assumptions. I think it’s pretty damn poor to get no response whatsoever from the mod in question.
For me, this mod note and the lack of follow up or clarification is largely out of character for the moderation around here, so I was really hoping for some response. But it’s minor in the big scheme. Just an unintelligible (and possibly wrong) mod note. No harm no foul if this doesn’t become a pattern.
