Myth: Blood thins when you move to

Common myth: When you move from a cold climate to a hot climate (a la Florida or Arizona) your blood “thins” and thus you are incapable of tolerating cold weather for physical, biological reasons as opposed to the more common sense answer that you just get used to the warmer weather. (Or heck, didn’t like the cold much to start with and thus the move to a warmer local.)

Anyway, I know it’s totally a myth, but I’m looking for some medical information/commentary to use to help debunk the myth. I see people say it a lot and I’d like to smite them with knowledge.

Thanks!

Here’s the Straight Do… I mean Straight from the Hip.

Huzzah and thanks. It’s surprisingly hard to find things with searches like “thin blood.”
