Mythbusters 2/16 - Holy Crap!

So did anyone else get a little turned on seeing Kerri chained to a torture table? No? Just me? Oh well. Although it was less hot when she started crying and so forth, but still…mmmmm.

I was also a little disapointed they didn’t find a brown note…guess I’ll have to try something else for my world dominating superweapon.

Damn…sounds like I missed the best episode ever. :frowning: Hopefully I won’t forget to catch the replay on Sunday night.

If she hadn’t been in a face mask, maybe. Now that I’ve seen her I know what Dopers are talking about. On the other hand, I found the show disappointing. They said the water torture myth was confirmed, but it was obvious the real torture was the restraints and they didn’t even think to put someone else in chains without the water drip. In other segments they seemed to get other things wrong, too, like discussing bullets without even mentioning momentum. I’ll stick to Cecil, although I doubt he’s half as cute.

Glad I wasn’t the only sicko watching that. And I agree, it stopped being sexy when she started to cry. But the outfit she had on!

Didn’t see it, but as a service to google warriors, her name is spelled Kari.

It was on last night? DAMMIT! Why do they keep moving that show around? Are they trying to make it fail?

As far as I know, it’s been on Wednesdays at 9pm Eastern for a couple of seasons at least. New eps and reruns seem to appear at random intervals, though.

Dang, I fell asleep before they got to the water torture. Anyone want to spoil it for me?

Mythbusters would be an even cooler show if more of the Myths turned out to be true. It’s anticlimactic for them to set up all the equipment and make a big production only to show nothing happening. (Although to do them credit, they usually manage to work in a big explosion or crash anyway.)

Finagle:
Intern Kari was put in torture-type wrist and ankle restraints with her head immobilized under the water torture rig. After about an hour and a half, she started having problems, not so much because of the drip, but because of the restraints. She was panicking, and her shoulders were hurting, etc. After (I think) about 2 hours they released her.

At the same time, as a kind of control, Adam sat, unrestrained, in a comfy chair with the water dripping on his head. The water didn’t seem to be bothering him, until he suddenly jumped up and ran out because he had to pee.

The expert they showed was a counselor who worked with actual victims of torture, and he knew of at least one case where the water torture was actually used, and pointed out that it’s not really a good idea to experiment with that kind of thing.
I was secretly hoping they would find the Brown Note. I guess it’s back to useing the secret satellite with the " Lay Zer ". I also hoped the bullet tests had more oomph. I wanted to see the piggy go cartwheeling through the air, like in a Dirty Harry movie. Too bad they didn’t have a Bert Gummer gun, that might have done it.

slightly bitter The Discovery channel in Canada has been playing pretty much the same 7-10 episodes for a few months now. I want something new, damnit! I think the most recent one we’ve got is the reconstruction of Buster.

Jamie want big boom!

Is it on EVERY Wed.? I could have sworn I’ve looked in the listings on Wed. before, and it wasn’t on. Maybe I’m losing my mind, though.

Not just you. And, I was REALLY hoping to see Adam soil that diaper.
I guess now I feel like I need to point out that my mild arousal was completely seperate and unrelated to my hope of Adam soiling his pants.

It’s been on Wednesday for quite a while now. This was only the second or third episode of the new season so it may not have been on the Wednesdays prior to that inbetween seasons. We just let Tivo pick it up and it doesn’t get reruns, so I couldn’t say for sure.
