Naems for Sporty Car Doors?

Is there a name for the Delorean car door that swings skyward? What about the Lamborghini door that swivels upward, like a pocket knife?

Well, the Delorean style is called “gull-wing doors.”

They are addressed in this here Dope thread but a name isn’t given. Is there one?

I always heard them called “NASCAR doors”. Back in the 50’s when NASCAR stock cars actually started out with… wait for it… stock cars, one of the modifications done to them before racing was welding the doors shut for safety reasons as well as stiffening the body.

The only cool disappearing door are the ones that all Jeeps have.
