Name for geometric shape: boat-shaped table

The table in one of my company’s conference rooms is boat-shaped – that is, it’s an ellipse, truncated at both ends. Is there a name for this shape?

Truncated ellipse.

“Boat shaped” seems to be the official name

That’s odd. If someone told me a table was “boat shaped,” I’d picture it truncated at one end and pointed on the other – something like an ironing board.

I guess that would be “ironing board shaped.”

I don’t think they put a lot of thought into it. The site I linked had diagrams for rectangle, oval and round tables. If they need a diagram for those, I don’t think they’re going to come up with anything more clever than “boat shaped”
