As some of you who have been following my Pit thread may know, I recently lost my beloved cat Achmed. I want to find his name in Arabic calligraphy. I know there are some variations on this name: Achmad, Ahmet, etc. As close as possible to an accurate rendition would be fine. If anyone here writes or knows someone who writes in Arabic would could render this name in attractive calligraphy, please e-mail me or somehow include it on this thread. I don’t know about calliography but there are some sites that can translate anything you spell out in English to Arabic.
Just try putting English to Arabic translator in Google. It helped me to get my tattoo spelled correctly.
What a coincidence! I plan to get the name “Achmed” tattooed on the inside of my left wrist. Never been tattooed before and never wanted to be, but it feels totally right to do it, so I’m going to. However, the last thing I want is a tattoo that isn’t spelled right, or doesn’t say what I think it says, even if I can’t read it.
Can anyone confirm/deny that this says “Achmed”?

OK, that’s weird, it’s reversed from what I copied from the website. No matter what I do, I can’t get it to copy as it was on my screen. I’m very confused now and sorry I keep posting to this thread when no one else is and bumping it up…
It’s running the correct direction. Arabic is written, like Hebrew, from right to left. However, and I say this as someone who isn’t really completely familiar with Arabic letters, I think you have too many characters there. “Ch” is one letter in Arabic, kind of a very hard “h”. I’d go more with Ahmad as the model in English than Achmed.

That looks a whole lot closer. The problem was that “ch” is one letter in Arabic, and from what I saw you were actually spelling it out as “c”, “h”, adding an unnecessary letter to the word.
