I’d say “sleeveless step-in smock”. Because it does look like a step-in smock. Except no sleeves.
I wasn’t suggesting that you were suggesting the Comedian was patterned after Ronald MacDonald. psychonaut asked if he predated him, and I answered the question.
This was the only image I could find of that version of the costume.
The problem I see with everyone calling it “sleeveless” ANYTHING is that, as near as I can make out from the available pics, the arm coverings are part of the garment; it’s not a striped shirt being worn beneath any kind of sleeveless thing.
So, I have to call it a jumpsuit, with jodhpur-flared legs.
And truly unfortunate color choices.
Check out some of the old McDonald’s TV commercials on YouTube. In some of them, the red and white sleeves don’t seem to be connected to the yellow jumpsuit.
It isn’t a garment. That is the Mcbeast’s Mcflesh; though perhaps Mcsubstance might be a more accurate term…
Not any more, thank-you-very-much! And I certainly don’t want to hear your thoughts on Grimace. ![]()
Okay, point taken.
Under the circs, I’m inclined to think of it as a sort of romper.
