Name some partisan right-wing message boards.

The GOP’s positions strike me as mostly ridiculous wishes of the “If I could be plutocrat for a day…” variety. I just can’t see the logic, let alone the persuasive power, of any but the broadest statements (debt=bad, kill bad guys=good).

I’ve tried, but I just don’t understand the pubbies. How can they support this drivel? What on Earth can they possibly be thinking? People have tried to answer that question on this message board, but I wonder if it might be better to take a look at what they say when they are talking to each other about these issues. So, could you point me to some RW message boards?

Free Republic comes to mind.

Given the political statements in the OP, this is inevitably going to become a debate, so let’s move it over to GD.

A google search turns up something called Conservative’s Forum you could check out and maybe troll if you want some answers from the horses mouths. Or something like that. Won’t post a link because not sure it’s kosher with board rules on potential board wars, but you can do a google search and find it easily enough.

Actually, the one called “Liberal Forum” (just put the two words together followed by org) is a rat’s nest of right wing talk. However, in the “No Holds Barred” section, which gets almost all of the traffic, the tenor of the dialog is pretty wild. They have language filters that are very easy to subvert, and few restrictions (spam, porn, anyone’s kids), so it gets to be rather like alt.politics on Usenet. The right wingers tend to out-shout the leftists.

Stormfront.

Baen’s Bar, last I checked.

Isn’t Baen a sci-if publisher? Or is this a different Baen?

National Review permits comments for all its articles and blog posts. That’s not exactly a message board, but it would seem to be one logical place to see what Republicans are saying.

Now that’s just mean.

They’re good for occasional cheap laughs. Hint: search for the tags “troll” or “zot” to find threads where somebody commits the heinous offense of trying to introduce sanity to their bubble universe and gets run out on a rail for his troubles.

Same Baen; but the boards (especially the non-sci fi parts) are quite right wing*; and since Jim Baen’s death the publishing house & the books & authors it promotes have swerved hard right**. And it was the only right wing board I can think of
*Full of people who claim things like how the occupation of Iraq was going badly because the CIA is full of treasonous Democrats who are deliberately sabotaging things. That was about when I lost interest.

**Including authors who in some cases favor extreme libertarianism, genocide, and even have outright literal Nazis for heroes.

No. Stormfront is on the Obama wagon. They think Romney is a neocon hack.

Pajamas Media

Seeing as they even call themselves a white nationalist website, that makes absolutely no sense.

What makes no sense? I haven’t actually been on SF, but on other similar sites. They generally think that Romney is a neocon; heavily influenced by Israel and the Jewish lobby, and by big finance and by global corporate interests; that he will drag the USA into more international conflicts (mainly with Iran) which are not in the best interest of the American people (but only of Israel); that he is bought and paid for by global corps and will undermine American owned small businesses and outsource to China; that he will screw over the common man for the 1%; etc. They see Obama as the least worst choice of the two.

Much like many of you guys. You should hold a big StraightDope / Stormfront come together. Drink a few beer. Throw darts at a Bush effigy. It’ll be great.

I didn’t mind right wing stories as long as they are still in the realm of speculative fiction*, but it really bothers me that they have started publishing RW propaganda like the Teaparty Manifesto.

*Although as far as I can tell the only speculative part of John Ringo’s “Ghost” was that Republicans were right about everything post 9/11.

Moved to IMHO from Great Debates.
