Name that actress!

I heard this story a long time ago and I’ve forgotten the actress and the exact quote. It goes something like this:

Back in the 1930s (or maybe 1940s) a famous actress was confronted about her big paychecks. “That’s an awful lot of money you get for doing not much work,” her critic said. The actress replied something along the lines of: “I don’t get all that money for the work I do; I get all that money to put up with all the crap that comes attached to stardom.”

It’s obviously not the actress you’re talking about, but I was reminded of this Michelle Pfeiffer quote from an interview with Esquire:
