I couldn’t make the mental leap to the title of the Bee Gee’s song…I was sitting here going Forsolong, youandmebeenfindineachother etc. as fast as I could. Probably grooving around in my chair a little.

Don McLean’s Starry, Starry Night? Nah, too easy.
Apparently, not that easy. The name of the song is Vincent. Dur!
Here’s a tough one. The song became the theme for a movie of the same name:
Some men climb a mountain…
and by the same artist:
I would marry you…
disclaimer: these may have been late 60s.

LATE 60’s?? You have to be an old fart like me to remember “Baby the Rain Must Fall” by Glenn Yarbrough (1965). He used to be in the Limelighters before he tried to make it solo. Wasn’t that the only hit he ever had? That’s vintage cheese!
ETA: I forgot to post one. Here’s some cheese: “…I returned to my seat”
Yarbrough had a following, of whom I was one for a time. He put a lot of Rod McKuen’s “poetry” to music, and put out a respectable discography. I even saw him perform when I was in college.
And yes, I AM an old fart.

It’s “things”, not “thing”, though.
I can’t believe that this is the one I get to answer.
