Name that McGuffin!

Today I was thinking about a song from my youth. It was hard to find the song on youtube because all I could remember was the chorus and there is really not much info on the song out there which fascinated me. I was finally able to track it down.

The song is I Want One by Jack Reno. Song

This song was the ultimate McGuffin song and I remember people making suggestions about what this guy wanted. I thought it might be fun to see what my fellow dopers can come up with.

The answer that I remember being the most intriguing was that it was a $1000 dollar bill. This is what made me think of this today. Doing some research, this song came out right about the time that the bill was removed from circulation which I didn’t know before today but I can’t imagine someine having this kind of devotion to the bill. This song describes something more like what’s in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction.

Still, for arguments sake I’ll offer that as what he was talking about. Any other suggestions? Even better, anyone else remember this song and what did you think about it at the time?

Could be. I’m not a car person so while I don’t want one I can’t say they’re not super cool. It made me smile. Like my $1000 bill, I don’t see the appreciation being that universal. Great guess.

Sorry for the late reply but I have been wicked sick for the last couple of days, Thank you for this clip. I had never heard it before and I love this kind of novelty songs, well most any novelty songs really.

My guess when hearing it was a rotting corpse but you couldn’t carry it around easily so I went to severed head which is already taken sort of. I’ll guess a tasmanian devil.
