Name that play/movie! A game..(if the mods will allow)

Ok, here’s how it works:

I will quote a line from a play, which has also been a movie, and you give up the title! After 3 guesses, if no one has it, I’ll give the title and then pick another line, which may or may not be from the same play/movie as the first quote. If someone guesses in the 3 tries, then they get to pick the next line…

… and so forth. Everyone clear? Okay, here goes…
(now remember, to qualify, the quote has to come from a play that has ALSO been a movie!)

Lion in Winter

Damn. Forgot to add a new quote. How about…

“I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey.”

Rocky Horror
“A man speaking sense to himself may be no more insane than a man speaking nonsense not to himself.”

Rosencrant and Guildenstern are Dead

“That guy is a fucking asshole. Anybody that talks to that asshole is a fucking asshole.”

**Glengarry Glen Ross **
“I’ve got Hamlet’s ghost on the phone for an hour every night complaining that Polonius is sucking sourballs through his speeches. Gertrude is off every afternoon doing a soap, and Claudius is off doing a commercial for Gallo wine. Hamlet himself, would you believe, has come down with a psychological problem.”

Noises Off!
“They say a snake bit her once. And died.”

Noises Off

This one ought to stump you (I hope, I hope  )

“That gal’s got entirely too many brains to have an ass like that”

Sorry Kiz, didn’t see you sneak in there before me.

I, Claudius for yours, now mine (see above).

Roadhouse was a play? Does this fit with the OP’s rules? I’m surprised, I can’t wait to see it on stage sometime!

“I’ve always known I was meant to dominate your sex and avenge my own.”

Dangerous Liaisons
“Is this a courting or a donnybrook? Have the good manners not to hit the man until he’s your husband and entitled to hit you back.”

The Quiet Man

“You pile up enough tomorrows, and you’ll find you are left with night but a lot of empty yesterdays.”

Bienville, check out www.roadhousetheplay.com

Sorry, make that “…with NOTHING but a lot…”

The Music Man (One of my favorites)
“Holy sh*t! It’s the attack of Eddie Munster!”

** Lost Boys **
Abandoning their sampans, and their pullaways and junks,
They battened down the hatches on the crew within their bunks.

CATS

Okay, since we keep coming back to musicals…

“I live like a nun in a cloister. Solitary, celibate – I hate it.”

1776

“for you yourself, sir, should be as old as I am if like a crab you could go backwards.”

Hamlet

“And when we stand before God, and you are sent to Paradise for doing according to your conscience, and I am damned for not doing according to mine, will you come with me, for fellowship?”

A Man for All Seasons

“Leave loudness to the Methodists”

Our Town

“Harp not on that string, madam; that is past.”
