Name This Cartoon Lion

I seem to remember an engineer Doper who used to use pictures and/or sound effects of this guy to describe a hideous co-worker.

He might be from the old Warner Bros cartoons, and for some reason I think he might have been part of the whole “one lump or two?” bits at some point. He’s yellow, makes odd noises, is very dim-witted, and for some reason, I want to call him Clyde, but that might not be his name at all.

I have a client who calls in to my workplace every day, and he speaks (and occasionally acts) like this lion. I don’t know how to describe the odd manner of speaking, other than, “Uh… uh heyuh… this isuh… uh… [client name]. I uh, need someuh… product, if you uh… if you uhh…” and I fully expect to a hear a “uhyuuuuuuuur!” at the end of one of those sentences one of these days, but it hasn’t happened. Yet. Or any manner of odd, grating hurking noises like this lion made…

Argh! Who is he?

Pete Puma.

Score! That’s the one, thanks so much!

I showed it to my husband, who knows the client well, and he burst into uncontrollable laughter. That’s the guy, all right!

You might be thinking of Claude, another yellow cartoon feline from WB.

:smack:

You’re right.

Pete Puma was voiced by Stan Freberg.

Here’s the thread: Meet my supervisor, Pete Puma

And Stan Freberg was mimicking Frank Fontaine (enters about 1:20 and sings about 4:30).

Tuckerfan was the Doper posting on this dolt.

How soon they forget. sobs
