Name this vintage hat!

I don’t know the name of this kind of men’s hat, but I want one and so I need to know the name! It looks like a tophat with a flat top, but it is shorter (around 4-6") and, importantly, the sides of the brim are rolled up. Billy Corgan wears one in the Smashing Pumpkins video “Tonight, Tonight” and our own jinwicked has one too. It appears to be a late 1890’s kind of fashion.

What is the name for this particular type of tophat? Does it have a specific name? Thanks!

I don’t watch TV, but if the hat is somewhat domed then it may well be a bowler.

Is this it?

Eh, no idea what it’s called. The website keeps giving me a “Cannot Find Server” so I dunno what they call it there.

Check “king of the plains” at the bottom of this page:

It’s a stovepipe hat, isn’t it? Not as high as Abe Lincoln’s, though.

Getting very close! Here is a pic of jin with one just like what I am talking about (I hope she doesn’t mind me plugging her!). Anyone know what it is?

It looks to me like a top hat, just not a tall top hat or a stovepipe hat.
