It’s strange that entire sounds get so trendy. All the names that start with “Ber” were really popular at the turn of the century, but plumetted since then. “Cor” names had a ten year run, and then all went out of favor.

Weird.

I noticed a trend toward “K” names during the last decade or so and found “Ko-” to be a very recent thing. And “LaT-” names were a ten-year thing, explainng why I knew so many LaTonyas and LaTishas growing up.

Also, looking up names of famous people with uncommon names turns up funny results–try Shania or Aaliyah or Alanis. Or character names–Forrest had a spike in the 90s.

Least surprising: my name was ranked 1st for girls when I was born (80s).

Most surprising: look up “Santa.” shudder

With the exception of the 50s (109), my first name has stayed in the top 100, peaking at number 4 in the 90s.

My middle name was least popular in the 40s (23) and most popular in the 1900s (6).

People have actually named their baby girls David. WTF?

My name peaked in popularity in, get this, 1900. By the way, I’m not that old.
by the way, my name is Esther

Mine were never top 100 in any decade. What do I win?

My name (John) peaked in popularity at #1 from 1900 to 1910, and has been on the decline ever since (ranked #17 in 2003).
