These 2 are like classical music, marvelously composed and arranged. I really dig Bruford’s drums in these 2 pieces. The snare/high-hat work is exemplary in the opening movement of HotS.
America
It’s not just a cover, it’s a dynamic interpretation of a great classic. And isn’t Bill Bruford a genius? It does go on just a wee bit too long, though.
We Have Heaven
In a word; unique.
This one was much tougher, but i’m going with “Long Distance Runaround/The Fish”. I love the opening sequence and the quick break after the fourth goodbye. Squire makes my ears dance each time I hear it.

Hold On
Trivia note: Bill Bruford plays the Mellotron on this track. He also plays bongos run through a wah-wah pedal, which can be heard towards the end.
My top 3 are “Starship Trooper”, “Perpetual Change” and “Yours is No Disgrace”. #4 would probably be “And You and I”… #5 is harder. “Heart of the Sunrise”, I guess, although there are several others that are about at the same level.
I think “I’ve Seen All Good People” is great but I’ve heard it more than enough.
In my teens, my uncle took me to see The Roundabout tour with that revolving center stage. It was my first concert and I’d never heard of Yes before. Obviously I wasn’t a fan then, nor since. But I never forgot the concert or the stage. The entire time I was waiting for the show to end while trying to figure out how long the cables must have been and how they kept them from tangling under the revolving stage.

Wondrous Stories
About two years ago, Jon Anderson did an Unplugged/Storytellers type show here in Austin. He opened with a stripped down, faithful cover of “America” as done by Simon & Garfunkel. I normally like the pomp of prog rock, but in this case… Anderson’s simpler version was better than the Yes version.
Is it OK to include songs from 90125? Not my favorite album, but I love listening to it. It was my first Yes album, I bought it when Owner of a Lonely Heart was a hit. The rest of the Yes catalogue made me a fan.
Five least favorite would be much easier…
I’m a big fan of those tracks too. Just not enough to make the top 5.
I did. I really like Hold On. It’s a good solid album just not like most of their other stuff.
All of mine have been mentioned except Mood for a Day. As gorgeous now as it was 45 years ago.
