What is your current favorite song?

And why do you like it? The composition? Lyrics? Emotional connection to someone or something? New, or new to you, doesn’t matter. Please link to the song.

Mine is The Voice contestant Preston Pohl 's cover of MGMT’s groovy Electric Feel. Already loved the song, but I believe Pohl, and his raspy voice gives me chills. Hulu link: Stream TV and Movies Live and Online | Hulu

Saturday Night at the World, by Mason Williams.

A poignant piece that always takes me back to my college days.

The Flintstones Meet the President by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

You Never Give Me Your Money (the “a capella” vocal-track only version).

Bartender Song (Sittin’ at a Bar). Rehab.

Why? I don’t know - I just really like it.

Thanks! Shared with my dad, the jazz lover.

Beatles, or some other cover? I’ve got your a capella: Poker Face a cappella (Lady Gaga) Noteworthy - original upload - YouTube

One of my husband’s favorite songs! It’s hilarious, but my favorite is It Don’t Matter: Rehab - It Don't Matter - YouTube

Beatles (or, more accurately, just Paul I guess). Someone posted a link to just the vocal track from the Abbey Road Medley a while back and the lyrics for “You Never…” have been stuck in my head for weeks.

Take your pick from dozens of Ke$ha songs–I find it impossible to decide on a clear favorite. Like Michael Bolton said in Office Space, “I guess I sorta like 'em all!”

Cut it out, Horndog. Pick one, and share it. We can’t all wank to Kesha. Nor should we…

“Radioactive” I love the beat and the imagery (of the song, not the video, that sucks balls). It actually inspired me to a bit of creativity re: “Shadowrun”, the RPG.

Me too, but because I sneaked out the window and went riding around with an older boyfriend I was crazy about while that song was popular. Have you heard The Firm’s Satisfaction Guaranteed? - YouTube

Sail. Turn the bass up to 11.

I think he might have meant this one.

Currently, the live version (from Boston) of George Thorogood’s One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer. He has another live version of it, recorded in England, but I prefer the Boston version.

I heard this version one time back in the early 90’s in my car, and I loved it but never heard it again. So recently I plugged it into Pandora, and now it (occasionally) plays on that station. If it comes on when I’m almost home, I’ll drive around for an extra fifteen minutes just to listen to it.

I’m not into current music, but I really like FUN. I really love the song Carry On.

I’ve been obsessed with the song Malibu by Hole lately.

There really isn’t a story to share. I just played that album a few thousand times, and this is my favorite song from it.

As I mention here:

I am enjoying Royals by Lorde. Good, catchy pop and she has a wonderful voice.

I also have Badfinger’s Baby Blue stuck in my head for some reason ;)*

*I assume folks have heard that it is featured in the finale of Breaking Bad

corkboard, Thorogood’s just a fun player. Great version.

WordMan, I also have Baby Blue stuck in my head for obvious reasons. And that lead to listening It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue multiple times.

Rescue Me by The Gathering. I love the buildup and cooldown of intensity, the creative use of the theramin (which to me sounds almost like whale songs) and of course, the gorgeous voice of former lead singer Anneke van Giersbergen.
