Names for my new pup

So we are picking up a pup tomorrow, and I thought I’d let you all weigh in on names.
He is a golden retriever, to go with our 11 month old golden bitch Clover.
He is very blond, with very dark pigment on his nose, pads, lips, eyes.

My fave is Spike - which I believe has support elsewhere in our family’s corner of the Whedon-verse.
Probably running 2d is Chief.
A recent nomination was Buddy - which I dislike.
I also like Beast and Q, which do not appear to have much support.

I’d post a pic, but can’t from work.
Will post a bunch after I get home with the beast.

I’d have to go with “Crimson”, but that’s just me. A child of the 60s and a big fan of the wah-wah pedal.

(“Q” is one of my many nicknames bestowed upon me by Mr. K)

He’s very Blond? How about Kenny or Ken.

I like people names for some reason. A good buddy of mine has a dog named Bill - and it’s the neatest thing watching him call the pooch over to him. I also knew a dog named Nick and one named Sara.

Yeah - I was suggesting we go with a red pup for just this reason!

I think Q is cool, cause you can kinda expand it to cutey-pie. (I’d better stop before I let on around here what a sentimental sap I really am!)

Too late!

Name him Hubble. Today is astronomer Edwin Hubble’s 119th birthday.
Name him Joe. Joe Walsh is 61 today! (and Joe Biden is 66.)
Name him Peregrine, for the first baby born on the Mayflower, 388 years ago today. (You can call him Perry.)

Crimson & Clover for rover and rover. What’s not to like.

That’s a cool approach.
I’ll have to check exactly when he was born.
No love for Spike, tho, huh? Figured my wife could call him Blondie-bear…

Totally. But Crimson’s not a very masculine name, though, is it.

OK, then name him Bama for the Crimson Tide.

Or Bear!

I think it’s neutral.

No offense to all the Bears I’ve loved, but it’s been done to death.

Pfft. Pansy names.

I think your Golden would respond better to something more ego-boosting, like THE HOG GUTTER!

You could call him ‘piggy’ for short :D.

One of our friends has a little dog named “Fatty.”

The first few times I heard it I thought I had misheard, but she said I had not. Cracks me up.

I had a friend who named his dogs Pork and Beans. It actually worked out rather well.

Well, you’ve got a Clover, call him Shamrock. Then he can be Rocky. That’s plenty masculine.

You could always go with the ever popular, Deogee. Seems to be all the rage on the intarwebs.

How bout Pita?

(pain in the a**)

Crimson. Has to be!
