I like the month names (“April”, “May”, etc.), Autumn, Lauren, Heather, Jessica, Jennifer.
For men, I have a particular affinity for Jake and Jack. That said, I seem to gravitate towards 3 letter names like Jon, Bob, Rob, Ben, etc.
My SO’s name is Scott, which doesn’t fall under any of those… but I do enjoy making some inane discovery (like finding my keys) and announcing “GREAT SCOTT!” in a horrible British accent.
If I ever have a daughter, I intend to name her Kalena. I also like Kate and Katherine a good deal.
Chris or Christopher
Sean (but not Shawn)
Mike
Eric (but not Erik)
Christine or Christina
Melissa
Martha
Never met an Erika I didn’t like. Actually, I’ve never met an Erika I didn’t want to get funky with.
I’m gonna have to marry the next Erika I get to know.
How about “Erica”? will she do, or is the K an important ingredient?
my own name (not “carlotta”) has made several appearances! Despite the fact that I personally dislike it. Glad it’s probably been doing me some good all these years.
Must add
Sam
Ben
I don’t know if Leah is a hot name or if it’s just that all the Leahs I’ve known have been hot.
Bruce
Frank
Nick
Scott
And for some reason, Alex
So, Didrika, how YOU doin’?
I’m trying to stay away from men named “Rob” - they always seem to be the biggest flirts and the biggest trouble. Which is partly what makes them so fun!
Erica probably works. But it’s spelled Erika in Swedish, which is where I’ve met them all (ok, not that many).
Jim
I think this goes back to reading Trixie Belden novels as a pre-teen.
My sister once dated a guy named Ron Block. I laughed out loud when she told me his name (he wasn’t there at the time, fortunately). Whenever I mentioned him after that, my voice would always drop an octave, when I’d say something like, "So, what’s new with you and
:: deep, manly voice ::
Ron Block?"
After awhile she got the giggles about it too. She agreed it was almost a comically macho name.
I thought of two less common names I like.
Sidra (yes, first heard it on that Seinfeld episode)
Kendra
Oh, ditto on Erica, or Erika.
Monica too.
Also Lindsey, Lindsay, Lindsee, Linzey, etc…
And Grace
Oh that’s funny. I once had a friend who avoided any Robs. I’m the same way with anyone named Rick.
