Nancy Zieman ("Sewing With Nancy") died in November

I hadn’t operated a sewing machine in years, but I used to sew a lot and her long-running show explained in a simple manner how to construct clothing, quilts, toys, and other items. She also had a company called “Nancy’s Notions” which sold assorted sewing accessories (and still does).

I didn’t know about it until a couple days ago, and figured this would be the best place for this thread because of her PBS program.

I am very bummed to learn this! I sew a lot and used to watch her show back before there was internet, and I always enjoyed it.

I learned some cool things from her.

Aww. My mom and I used to watch Sewing With Nancy back in the '80s. She was our Bob Ross.

Man I loved her. Sad.:frowning:

Another PBS artist (whose program still airs on my local station) who left us too soon.

She never seemed to age. Loving what you do for a living would sure help with that!

I always wondered about her face. I thought it was probably Bells palsy. And I was right, come to find out.
I learned alot from her.

Who’s next, the New Horizons in Bonsai guy? The woman who melted glass in her microwave?

I used to watch her a bit out of general interest in a craft. I don’t and never will sew, but it was fascinating to watch her techniques and strategies.

I know her sister!
(that’s all I got…)
