No, it’s not a joke and yes it’s the one in North Attleboro. The foreign front desk worker wasn’t the nicest and it’s a bit hard to get in and out of, but the rooms were clean and somewhat quaint and the price was reasonable. We stayed there in 2008 when we wanted to go to both Boston and Newport and wanted to stay someplace about halfway in-between, but it’s still getting decent review on TripAdvisor. By contrast the Super 8 in Fall River and the Days Inn in Middleboro have horrible reviews.
That’s certainly an exception to the general New England practice of omitting letters and blending together sounds in place names!
