Nascar Driver drinking beer?

He’s not drinking beer because he’s thirsty, he’s advertising. Beer and fast cars.
Is that what you’re talking about, xizor? I agree, but it’s really no big thing. Although it could send a negative message to the youngsters, who adore these drivers.
When I’m really thirsty, the last thing I want is beer. Gimme a nice cool glass of water, or sweet tea. (Southern Style, please.) Lemonade will do nicely, too.
Beer is for getting drunk.
Peace,

You can drink beer? I thought you were just supposed to hold it up to the light, wipe the sweat from your brow, and wait for the cute girls to show up. Once again, Madison Ave. has misled me.
The beer/racing thing has always bugged me. Living near the area in Vancouver that was always used for the Molson Indy kinda forced that. Noisy and stinky – Already it’s a hard sell. But using fast cars in my hometown’s streets to sell an ocean of mediocre inebriant to poor saps that don’t know any better? I was overjoyed when it went the way of all things.

I think my GQ has been answered. The fact that you can drink real beer on TV. However,

leads to the question - since this was done as advertisement for his sponsor, does it not make it a beer commercial?

I think it would actually be more of a case of “product placement” rather than a commercial.

i love beer! nice, cold, delicious beer!
