National bank with free incoming wire transfers?

Our primary client only pays via wire transfer. We just got a payment and its associated $12 “incoming wire transfer fee.” Given the volume of work and how payments are parcelled out (project by project), we end up with $800–$1000 per year in these fees. Given the electronic nature of things, this is insane. Given the size and internal practices of the client, change on their end is a non-starter.

Is there a bank out there that doesn’t charge for incoming wires? A national bank with a full range of online services?

Wow, what a narrow GQ.

Thanks,

Rhythm

No that I know of. This is one of those classic fees that most if not all banks charge “because they can”. Perhaps if you have enough business with the bank they may be willing to waive the fee to keep your business. It’s worth a shot. Talk to the bank manager.

Looks like they have unlimited free incoming wire transfers.

The last table on that page has a comparison of a bunch of accounts allowing free incoming wire transfers.
