How would I go about finding out about the actual divisions (and their locations) deployed by NATO and French forces at any time during the 1980s? Googling seems to help little; I’d like to find out which divisions were stationed where, what forces were earmarked for REFORGER, and sundry assorted things. Same for the Warsaw Pact, actually, though that would be a more serious exercise, I guess.
A simple tree diagram would do, actually, if it looked like this:
VII Corps US
1st Armored Division, Frankfurt, Germany
2nd Armored Division, Hanau, Germany
etc…
Anybody got any ideas?
