The playoffs started April 16, and are finishing in mid June.
Is this the longest of any sport? (or at least, any “major” sport)?
I guess the ratio of playoff games (max 28) vs the season (82) isn’t too far off from American football 4/16

The NHL playoffs started April 13, and finished last night. If Golden State can finish it off at home I believe that they have the NBA “beat” by one day?
Well it depends if you are limiting it to just the “Big 4” US sports or “playoffs” or want to go further; for instance, the soccer UEFA Champions League starts in summer with selected teams based on the results of the previous European leagues schedules then doesn’t end until the next May.
The FA Cup among many other knockout tournaments can feature over a 100 teams and go on for almost a year.
F1 runs from March to the end of November.
The Champions League for 2016/17 starts on 28th/29th June, the final is then on June 3rd next year. So that’s a 49 week “season” for that competition.
It takes three years from first game to last in the World Cup Tournament.
NASCAR this year had the Daytona 500 on February 21 and its last race will be November 20. Actually there are exhibition races on February 13
The NBA playoffs are rigged. Ask anyone sitting on the bar stool next to you.
