NBA Playoffs are here!

paraphrasing jimmy kimmel’s tweet: it’s been 70 years since WW2 and Lebron and the Heat have somehow got all of america to root for the germans again.

i dislike the Wilt comparison. while Wilt did lack motivation at times (so did Shaq), at least he (and Shaq) were coachable. it’d be a nightmare trying to coach that squad down in Dade county.

The refs were unable to force the Heat to make free throws.

Y’all wanna talk basketball? Obviously not…

I can’t believe all this hate for LeBron James. Lets put some facts together and some of my opinions…

LeBron is the best player in the NBA right now and has been since he arrived…

Career Achievements

He has some records that he doesn’t share with anyone in that list but that is probably because he is greedy (sarcasm without contradiction but argue you it if you must)…

Now let me go out of order and just throw shit all over the place…

Where was Dwayne Wade during the whole playoffs? He had some big games but how often? Talk about inconsistency, LeBron received all the attention and frankly that’s not even fair to Dwayne Wade. Why did Dwayne Wade always look like he didn’t give a shit? If it’s his team then we should have seen that from him…

After hearing LeBron’s post game interview it became obvious that the players do listen to the media and fans, it is hard not to… So what are the fans and media saying? LeBron is a choker, LeBron is the root of all evil, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron… How about Dwayne Wade? This is D Wades team, yada yada yada… Talk about adversity, huh? Not just a few fans are saying this stuff either, damn near all the fans of the NBA are saying this shit. In LeBron and Wade’s eyes, they probably see it as their whole country saying this shit. So for LeBron, his whole country is against him…? Ouch… How could anyone perform well when their whole country is against them.

LeBron has been dealing with shit since he arrived… People expecting him to be Jordan and always saying he doesn’t compare, where has he stated he is or will be better than Jordan? People are upset because he has “Chosen 1” tattooed on his back, what the hell is wrong with a little personal arrogance? Maybe he tattooed it on his back to push himself harder and meet that expectation. I highly doubt he said to himself, let me tattoo this on my back to make the world hate me… This was hardly even a problem before he left Cleveland… Me personally, I wouldn’t have left after being there so long, or would I, would you? How do you know you wouldn’t leave?

So he joined Miami with another superstar and people cry about that too… Y’all here to watch good basketball or get your panties in a bunch? How can y’all not enjoy a super team? A super team is like the Harlem Globetrotters of the NBA (very entertaining) yet no one can enjoy the Miami Heat because it’s personal now (funny)…

Did the Miami Heat fail? Make your own personal opinion but Game 6 of the NBA Finals in the first year from what is basically a new team tells me no…

LeBron choking in the 4th quarter? What were his stats in the 4th quarter of Game 6 before they gave up? BTW, LeBron gave up before his beautiful quick release 3 pt shot… He may have choked before but not in Game 6, I can’t find quarterly stats but I remember him making most of his shots in the 4th quarter, if my memory is correct, he was 3-4 before he gave up (they gave up early). I would say he didn’t try before I’d say he was choking…

So what really went wrong?

Dwayne Wade always had something bothering him, he didn’t give a fuck this whole series and last (possibly the whole playoffs, didn’t watch). Keep that shit off the court as it affects your game. Who cares about his flopping, where the hell was he? He was upset because of the whole “this is D Wade’s team” thing… Sorry Wade but when the best athlete comes to your team, that title goes away and you need to accept it and continue to do your thing… That would be why I agree with the guy mentioning LeBron being better than Wade postgame (constructive criticism). Wade proved immature by being sucked in to what others say about him… But again, it’s hard not too in this day

Y’all ever pay attention to the head coach of that team? He looked like a little ass kid in my eyes, he always had a smile on for the camera, even at times when he should have been upset… You personally, would you respect him as your coach just by looking at him, I know I couldn’t… The head coach supposed to provide some discipline in the team. This is D Wade’s team though so they don’t need a head coach (sarcasm)… How’s that for pressure, Wade? Coaches supposed to take the pressure and blame, so why is the best athlete and another superstar taking all the pressure, they are supposed to be the performers… Pretty boy ass coach, doesn’t look like he has an ounce of basketball in him nor confidence… Imagine Phil Jackson as the head coach, y’all would be crying storms…

I shouldn’t hear shit about Chris Bosh either, he had an great playoff run and if the Heat somehow won the Finals, he would be the one to deserve the Finals MVP…

The immature hating has got to stop, hating is for bitches and this is supposed to be a mans sport… I couldn’t agree more with what LeBron said to the haters after the game because he was right 100%. Men aren’t supposed to get wrapped up in this shit. This is a NBA thread and I would expect basketball fans to show up (did y’all see Kidd block Charmer’s shot in the 4th?)… I guess hate sells so I really don’t expect things to change.

Congratulations to the Mavericks because they deserved it…

Disclaimer: You may have seen me say some bad things about LeBron before but that is because he owned my team, the Bulls… I immediately rooted for the Heat after the Bulls were eliminated as I stick to the East…

As for Dio crying about Kidd beating up his wife… Grow the hell up

Eh, hard to say he’s the GREATEST when he managed 16 points in the fourth quarter…over six games. Dirk had 10 in game 6 alone and 56 points for the finals in the 4th quarter. Plus Lebron didn’t help things at the free throw line, 12 of 20 for the finals. That’s Shaq territory there.

As for game 6, he sat out the first two and a half minutes, he shot 3-4 with a three, had an offensive rebound, stepped out of bounds to turn the ball over and an assist.

Plus he gave up on defense according to this guy. Pretty interesting read, with a few short clips that can show what he’s referring to.

You gotta read my whole post though to understand why I don’t blame Lebron for playing like crap… I didn’t claim he was the greatest but that he is the greatest in the NBA right now. Plus aside from the jewelery, he his climbing the ladder to being the greatest or perhaps second greatest as his numbers today are slightly behind the numbers of Jordan of the same age…

Preciate the 4th quarter stats, proves he didn’t even try… That turnover was after he/they gave up… Did anyone watch them in the 4th? The Heat were not trying, their intensity was that of a elementary school playground game, maybe less…

Dude, LeBron can’t carry Dirk’s jock. I can’t even fathom how anyone could argue differently right now.

Will LeBron ask Dirk if he can join the Mavs?

LeBron’s family members or someone (else) who has their lips firmly attached to LeBron’s member. The Heat lemmings don’t even know he disparaged them too. Oh, but he said “hater,” I’m a LBJ lover, so what he said doesn’t apply to me. GOOOOOO HEEEEEEAAAAAATTTTTTTT!

Hennessy, what part of Miami you from?

If you think ‘giving up’ is an excuse for not playing well, I’m not sure you are on the same wavelength as most sports fans.

Please, Lebron’s not even the best player on his team, let alone in the NBA.

Lebron might have been the best player in the NBA for 99% of the minutes he played but when he isn’t even as good as JJ Barea in the fourth quarter of the NBA finals he is going to get the share of the blame.

He is unquestionably a better player than Wade. He’s not as determined, he’s not the leader of the team (but we knew that) and he was not better during the finals, and all due respect to Wade for that. But let’s be serious. James outperformed Wade in every statistical category this season except blocked shots.(He did turn the ball over more often, but he had a better assist to turnover ratio.) It’s likely to look that way any season they play together.

He’s like Reggie Jackson in reverse!

And natural talent doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have the work rate to match it. A team should look better when their alleged best player is on the field of play, not worse, the way Miami did when Lebron was on the court. The -24 rating Lebron had in game 6 is very telling, especially compared to Wade and Bosh with +3 and +4 respectively.

I agree he didn’t play up to his ability and that it hurt the team. I agree Wade used a greater proportion of his talent. He responds better to adversity and he’s a better leader. He’s not as good a player. There’s really no argument to the contrary.

Sure there is - we’re not arguing who is more talented, this is about greatness, which doesn’t come from talent alone - Hennessy was arguing that Lebron is the greatest player in the NBA, but a truly great player lifts his team up in times of adversity, leads his team, makes his team better. Lebron did none of these, while Wade at least tried (and has proven in the past that he is able to, practically single-handedly winning the championship in 2006).

Did he? Is he really the best out there? This title series, already in his 7th year, certainly gives me pause. We’re conditioned by the media/Nike hype since he was in high school. They tried the same thing before, with Grant Hill and then Vince Carter.

Have we seen the real Lebron?

Go back to watching the Rugrats, you may have to start over but you should take it slowly this time… Maybe use all 5 senses this time and understand they are your senses, not your mothers, not Obamas, and not Sterns… Your free little guy, now go spread your wings and enjoy life

I’m from the St. Louis, Mo part of Miami, did you want to come visit?

His performance in this series, and in the Celtics series last year, speak for themselves. But yes, he’s that good, and treating one or two playoff series as “the real thing” and ignoring eight full seasons is more than a little misguided. If you go looking for guys who can average 28-7-7 for eight years, you will find a very short list. And before he got hurt, Grant Hill was actually as good as advertised.

What you wrote is

And yes, he’s the best player on that team. He’s better than Wade at almost every component of the game. Scoring, rebounding, passing, name it. If you want to argue that he lacks greatness, however you define that, go for it - he’s proved he doesn’t have the determination that Wade, or a bunch of other guys, some of whom have significantly less ability than LeBron himself does. I was going to mention Jordan and Kobe, but even comparing LeBron’s desire to theirs seems like a joke. He didn’t pick up his game when challenged and didn’t seem to know what to do (hint: get to the rim). But he’s a better basketball player than Wade is.

Your tone in this post is obnoxious. Stop it now.
