The man has balls!
It won’t last. I remember last election cycle the Repubs were absolutely CLAMORING for Fred Thompson to join the race. I mean, it was an absolute tumult coming out of the right-wing camp. Seemed to go on for weeks. So finally Fred Thompson decided to throw his hat in the ring and I swear that within a matter of just a few days (as in: less than a week) it seemed that the Repubs had forgotten all about Fred Thompson! I expect a similar thing to happen with “The Donald.”
That’s hilarious. She sounds like a true American heroine.
So, is opposing illegal immigration now officially one of the things that gets you drummed out of all polite society?
Just wanna make sure.
(post shortened)
Donald Trump is/was not employed by NBC, so it would be a surprise to both NBC and Trump, if NBC actually managed to fire someone who didn’t work for them.
Trump was fired by NBC, etc. for doing a wee bit more than merely “opposing illegal immigration.”
But you knew that.
He was the host of the NBC show "The Apprentice ". Now he’s not. What word would you use?
Trump Productions and Mark Burnett Productions originally produced “The Apprentice”, which was later produced by United Artists Media Group.
I would say that NBC severed ties with Trump Productions, or NBC severed ties with whichever Trump company they had been contracted to do business with.
May I ask: who in the name of holy hell would want to dress like Trump?
That’s a rather insignificant nitpick, don’t you think? They didn’t want Donald Trump on their network. It’s not a stretch to say that they fired him.
Trump’s position on illegal immigration is, and has been, well known. NBC, Univision, and Macys were aware of Trump’s very public opinions before they signed contracts with Trump’s various companies.
It’s amusing that NBC, Univision, Macys, and others suddenly realize they are contracted to do business with Donald Trump companies.
WHAT? We’re contracted with Donald TRUMP?!?!? I thought we were contracted with Donald Turner, or Donald Trumpet, or Donald Turnbuckle. Why didn’t anyone tell me I was shaking hands and having my picture taken with Donald Trump?:smack:
Who would want to buy their clothes at Macys?
No, but making controversial statements can certainly harm one’s brand. If all they’re bringing to the table is said brand, I wouldn’t expect everyone to keep paying for it.
I mean, he’s still allowed to go to restaurants and everything, he’ll probably still get invited to whatever parties he would get invited to before. He’s just not able to make as much extra cash just for being Donald Trump.
Why would I think it’s insignificant? You can say Trump was fired. I wouldn’t say Trump was fired. You can stretch that any way you chose. You’re not employed by me, so it’s not like I could “fire” you.
Like what. Spell it out. Tell me what he said that crossed the line (and, if you can, tell me where the line is).
It might have been the part about calling Mexicans rapists. Or did you not bother to listen to his speech?
The line starts right after the word “Mexicans” in this
[quote]
(Donald Trump Says He's Running For President):
Wasn’t Trump referring to illegal immigrants who are Mexican? Or do you believe Trump was talking about all Mexicans?
Do you think that a majority or even most illegal immigrants are rapists? Immigrants are a pretty good sampling of the poorer part of a population. Calling them rapists implies that a lot of the Mexican population are rapists. Unless crossing the border deranges someone.
Lots of Republicans come out against illegal immigration without this kind of reaction, after all.
(underline added)
While all illegal immigrants have already committed to violating U.S. laws, I don’t believe a majority of illegal immigrants are rapists. (What’s the difference between a majority or most?)
Trump discussed a (2014) Fusion article with Don Lemon. It suggest that 80% of the illegal alien women coming from, or crossing thru Mexico, are raped. It also suggest that trading sex is a form of currency.

Is rape the price to pay for migrant women chasing the American Dream?

Lots of Democrats encourage illegal immigration into the U.S.A. without mentioning the rapes that the illegal aliens are subjected to.
