Yet, they let Cam Newton slip out of their program and he goes to a rival SEC school.

IMO, an alleged ‘crooked’ program like Univ of Florida Gators would never let a 5 star recruit/prospect get away.

File this into things that make you go UMMMMMMM.

I didn’t reference Cam Newton at all (although the part about the student-athlete not knowing certainly came from the Cam case). I just asked 2 hypothetical questions. But I’ll break the first one down.

1.) Can an athlete give things such as rings, uniforms, etc. to his parents?
2.) Can his parents sell this property?
3.) [Obviously, parents can give their children money, so there is no question here.]
4.) Does it matter if the athlete knows how the money was generated?

The NCAA in yesterday’s release stated that had Cam Newton’s father received money, Cam would not be eligible.
Does that convert to parents selling a player’s things making that player ineligible? It would seem so to me, but I’m not a lawyer.
