In my main bracket I had Georgetown losing to Kansas in the regional final. In my other “upset special” bracket I had them losing to OSU in the sweet 16. But that’s what I love about this tournament.

Well, after a tough year of playing quality opponents, game in and game out, it is easy to have a let down and look past these chump teams that shouldn’t even be here.
I kid. I kid. But do you really think that Robert Morris matches up evenly with Nova? Or that Ohio is better than Georgetown? It happens and that’s what makes this tourney great. Big East is still the best conference hands down.

Man, the power conferences are really making an argument for why we need to expand the field and add even more mediocre, eighth-place-in-the-conference also-rans as at-large bids.
I take it you didn’t watch the regular season. The Big East was mediocre out of conference from the beginning of the year to the end.
I believe they were the fourth best conference head to head in the regular season. And certainly they look even worse now.
Anyone who thought Notre Dame would beat Old Dominion (the same ODU which went into Georgetown and smacked them down in the regular season) after Notre Dame lost to Loyola Marymount and Northwestern… is blinded by bias.

Sagarin does not rank them #1. It has both the Big 12 and the ACC ahead of the Big East. Big 12 got 7 out of 12 teams (58.3%) in the tournament, Big East got 8 out 16 (50%).
As of this post, The Big East is 3-6 thus far in the B-Ball post season including the NIT. Their wins: Robert Morris, Northeastern, and Weber State, while losing to Ohio, Washington, Old Dominion, NC State, Memphis, and Texas Tech.
