I went 12-4 in my main bracket. And if I had money on it I’d say I went 13-3 since I picked UTEP over Butler - last minute reversal there - but still had Butler winning in the second round. [I’d lose that argument, but I’d try it!] I also missed on Georgetown, Richmond, and Marquette. In my other bracket I went 12-4, missing on Georgetown, Richmond, San Diego State, and UNLV. So far, I guess this approach is not making any difference for me.
I’m waiting for the Mizzou - Clemson game.
Mike Anderson’s 40 minutes of hell is going to give Clemson fits.
I grew up watching Nolan Richardson’s Razorbacks. I love that offense. Mike has fine tuned it and it’s fun to watch.
I picked Mizzou.
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I hate Cornell. They just totally busted my bracket.
So I have two brackets, and picked almost every upset between the two of them.
Missing one Sweet 16 team on each bracket so far (Georgetown on one, Temple on the other), but still have all my Elite Eight intact.
Mizzou - Clemson tied at the half.
So far, it’s been a good, up tempo game.
HAH! My National Champion out of one of my Wild brackets is already out!
Mizzou took care of Clemson
I got Mizzou taking W Virginia. If J.T. Tiller has a good game, W Virginia is in trouble.
HA!
(Sorry…ok, not really).
I LOVED watching my Alma Mater kick the snot out of Temple. They play like that they’ll beat Wisconsin too.
Bracket wise, I’m doing pretty well, except for Georgetown and Vandy, but otherwise, I’m doing OK. My bracket is in the 93rd percentile on ESPN, so not too bad. Haven’t lost a final 4, but I’ve lost 2 elite 8 teams so far.
Sweet. One of my five ESPN.com brackets is in the 99.7th percentile…I’m in 14,987th place!
I only missed on Butler, Ohio U, Murray State and Wake Forest!
I have Duke beating Syracuse in the final game in that one.
Speaking as a Duke fan (family reasons), are you relying on a few forfeits? Duke is a bit bigger than years past, that’s for sure, but I still feel they are missing an athlete.
I’m one to talk though, I’m in the 43rd percentile in my ESPN one and 17 for 24 in this one and my only real ballsy pick was Cornell.
I’m pretty pissed so far. My bracket is doing okay, but nothing special. It’s very middle of the road. What pisses me off is that after I finished my picks, I wrote up a rundown of where I thought I would have the most trouble. I knew I would get both of the Butler/UTEP and Vandy/Murray St. picks wrong. I switched those picks a half dozen times each. I wrote that I didn’t trust Georgetown with even a nickle bet, but I was too chicken to believe Ohio could ever beat them. So far, every single thing I noted came out right, I just didn’t have the stones to go with it. I’d have an extra three wins if I listened to my gut. Grr.
Still not yet as bad as last year, so that’s a plus.
Hmmmph. God had Georgia Tech advancing. Only possible reason a team with 60% ish on free throws on the year only misses one out of more than 20.
Cal and Washington eliminate two Big East teams. The Pac 10 really needed this after such a bad year.
Now if only Cal could somehow beat Duke. Their starters are good enough to do it, but the lack of depth makes it nearly impossible. Especially with one of their starters apparently not going to be allowed to play.
Washington should beat New Mexico though (even though I picked NM over Washington in my bracket).
I’m pretty surprised (and amused) that so many Big East teams got bounced in the first round…
I just want to take a moment to laugh at all the Duke haters who had picked Louisville to the Sweet Sixteen.
HA!
May your tears stain your busted brackets!
Nah. They lose to the Aggies
Let’s see now…how many of the 23 or so Big East teams that were in the tournament still remain…?
Not Villanova!
I have noticed that the Big East Supporters are strangely silent in this thread.
Just where are the people who had annointed Louisville a sweet 16 berth after they beat Duke.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?
Good job!
