NCAA Tournament Predictions/Picks

Um, OK.

Bump!

Tournament basketball returns tonight!

WOOT!

I am stoked for my Cats. The UK/Cornell game could be quite interesting if Cornell comes out on fire and UK is missing shots early.

Anyway…I love March Madness. Its the only thing that gets me through until the NFL draft!

Almost time to change out of my work shirt and into my Washington Huskies Pac-10 Champs shirt…maybe a couple more hours.

Go Dawgs!

Yeah. I think I’m going to scoot out of work here early and go take a nap. The game I really want to see doesn’t even start until essentially 10:00pm…kind of a late night for me to stay up and watch it all…

I’ve got the opposite problem…the game I want to see starts at 4:30 and I don’t get off work 'til 5:00!

Don’t get in my way on the drive home tonight, because I’m not hitting the brakes.

This is one of those rare days that I wished I lived on the west coast for a sporting event…I could be watching it in 30 minutes!

During the NFL season, I’m always SO HAPPY that I live in the Eastern time zone. Guess I can’t win 'em all…

Well, though I know the odds are I’ll be disappointed, I’m excited to see Cornell face off tonight. Never did I think I’d see the basketball team make a Sweet 16…I just hope the players aren’t just happy to be there (though I have to admit, I am.)

Of course, I am looking forward to tomorrow afternoon as much if not more. Cornell takes on UNH in the first round of the NCAA hockey tourny. Hoping for national championship #3 this year (though I’ve been saying that the past 14 years).

Yikes!

Syracuse being -11 in turnovers is a fantastic way to get out of playing more basketball. Mission accomplished if that was their goal.

I could not be more bored watching WVa v Washington.

Well, thanks to Syracuse choking I now join the ranks of the boned.

And no more perfect bracket for the “Rain Kid”.

Me too. I had a pretty good bracket going, but it didn’t account for the Cuse being defeated by Butler and bad refereeing. Could Butler get away with a few more travels late in the game, please?

Having watched the first five 15 minutes and even though this is only a four point game at present, there is just no way in heck Cornell wins this game. The athleticism disparity is simply too great. Cornell simply isn’t getting any good shots up and they don’t have the athletes to create there own.

If Kentucky stops trying threes this game will be a blowout. I hope I see the K State second half.

ncaa.com will allow you to watch any game you wish…UK is up by 16 at the half…it should be over…

Well, that was a terrible first half for Cornell. As soon as I saw they couldn’t get inside, I knew it was over.

Will do, thanks! Although CBS switched back.

Oh man, Xavier would have won this game if they gave you four points for extra-long threes. Double OT instead!

Kentucky’s defense was miles better than Temple or Wisconsin, and they really shut down the three point game as well. As disappointed as I am that they didn’t win tonight, it was a pretty big deal to get as far as they did.

Hockey this weekend - Go Big Red!

Indeed. Very proud of the team to make the Sweet 16. Let’s face it, for the Ivies, a sweet 16 berth is rarer than a national title for most of the major conferences. Really well done considering a bunch of non-scholarship student athletes were playing essentially against the NBA all-rookie team for next year.

Looking forward to the Cornell-UNH game tonight! Let’s Go Red!

You know, I’m as big a Kentucky fan as you’ll ever meet, but I felt pretty bad for Cornell. Its hard as a general fan of the game to not feel a little misty-eyed in a Hoosiers sorta way when you understand what those kids have to go through academically at a school like Cornell, and for their basketball program to achieve as much as it did given the circumstances (no scholarships for sports) is a pretty damn big achievement indeed.

Its actually hard to believe that in this era that there are any Div I schools that have a basketball program that doesn’t have scholarships.

With Tennessee (#6 Seed) win against Ohio St, the Final Four is guaranteed to have a 5 seed or worse from the Midwest quadrant. Tenn will play Mich St (#5) or Northern Iowa (#9).
